Kaski is a neo-grotesk that looks calm and open at first glance, but has clearly been shaped by people who care too much to leave it at that. It’s not another boring grotesk. The design sits between tactile functionalism and the human side of modernism. Clear and reduced, yes — but not empty. Where many grotesks in this space make safety their main feature, Kaski makes a quiet case for form following feeling, a gentle argument with a certain well-known maxim. The variable font is built around a weight and an optical size axis. Kaski XL lives in the same file as Kaski, accessible as named styles or via the OPSZ axis. It brings tighter spacing, higher contrast at joints, and thin accents and symbols — a different mode, not a different font.
